Kaasee ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data Kaasee collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Data We Collect

Kaasee collects only the data you choose to enter:

• Expense and income transactions you add manually or import via PDF
• Savings goals and budget settings you configure
• Account credentials (email and password, stored securely via Firebase Authentication)

We do not collect any data passively. We do not access your contacts, location, camera, or any other device data.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

Your financial data is stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted in the United States. Firebase applies encryption at rest and in transit. Only you can access your own data — it is protected by your account credentials.

3. AI Assistant (Anthropic Claude)

Kaasee includes an optional AI-powered Insights feature. Before this feature is used for the first time, the app will ask for your explicit permission to send data to a third-party AI service.

When you use AI Insights, the following data is sent to Anthropic, Inc. (the maker of Claude AI) to generate a response:

• A summary of your transaction categories and monthly totals for the past 3 months
• Your question or message

The following data is never sent to Anthropic:

• Individual transaction names, merchants, or notes
• Your name, email address, or account credentials
• Bank account numbers or payment details

Anthropic processes this data under their own Privacy Policy. You can decline the permission prompt to use Kaasee without sending any data to Anthropic — all other app features remain fully available.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Data is shared only with the following services necessary to operate the app:

• Google Firebase — authentication and data storage
• Anthropic Claude API — AI assistant responses (spending summary only)

5. Household Sharing

If you use the household sharing feature, members you invite can view shared financial data within your household account. You control who is invited and can remove members at any time.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at kaaseeapp@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Kaasee is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at kaaseeapp@gmail.com.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
